ADD Travel: Is It Possible to Relax on Vacation With ADHD Children?

Summer travel and vacation plans have been put on hold since my attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) daughter has started having behavioral problems again. What can we do to stay sane on our next family trip?

My daughter, Natalie, who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), doesn’t tolerate riding in the car well, and this, along with several other behavioral issues, has limited our choices for family vacations. Trips to Omaha, Nebraska, and Kansas City, Missouri (drives of about three hours each way), taught us that we were really pushing it, so for the last two years, we’ve made plans right here...

The Best Hair Detangler for Children and Adults With Sensory Issues?

For help for hair tangles and the sensitive heads of the adults and kids who hate to comb them out, consider the Knot Genie. Read a review of the hair detangler and leave a comment to win one for yourself or your loved one!

For my daughter, Natalie, that’s especially true when the positives she discovers are related to her attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) and comorbid conditions. Recently, she demonstrated that...

ADHD Medication Effects: Do You Ever Wonder If and How Meds Are Working?

My daughter, Natalie, takes several medications for her attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) and other comorbid conditions and I've often wondered about the effects they have on her symptoms and behavior. Several recent mix-ups about her treatment have given us the opportunity to see how well her meds work (or not).

My daughter, Natalie, takes several medications to treat her attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) and comorbid conditions. We’re typically very, very regular and reliable about giving Nat her meds accurately -- the right dose, of the right med, at the right time, every single day. But recently we’ve had not one and not two but three medication snafus. Luckily, none of them created significant discomfort for...
