Hoops and More Hoops

An ADHDer explains the hurdles she and her son face at the doctor's office and pharmacy.

I have to go through a preauthorization and a quantity-limit override whenever I get medication for my son and myself. The process takes at least three weeks, and we both do without medication while we wait. I’ve also had pharmacists lose my information or send it to the incorrect provider.

I cry every time I have to update a dosage of our medication, because I anticipate the hoops I’ll have to jump through. Do people with diabetes have to go through this to get insulin?
